Kadir Has University Green Transition Observatory (KHAS_GTO)
The Green Transition Observatory (Yeşil_İz) is a collective of academics, civil society representatives, independent researchers, and professionals dedicated to advancing the transition toward sustainable development and climate action. Our mission is to track, interpret, and inform global developments related to sustainability and climate change mitigation — and to contribute to shaping policies that foster a fair and inclusive green transition.
As ecological and climate crises intensify, time is rapidly running out. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), if current trends continue, global warming is projected to reach 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052. This stark reality underscores the urgency of acting now.
With this awareness, The Observatory works to:
- Strengthen collaboration across disciplines and sectors,
- Expand research and innovation capacity,
- Develop analytical and science-based solutions, and
- Promote knowledge sharing for a common sustainable future.
Through workshops, seminars, and conferences, Yeşil_İz fosters dialogue, cooperation, and collective learning. Our goal is to provide an evidence-based, analytical compass for societies navigating the path toward sustainable transformation.
We come together under the Yeşil_İz Observatory umbrella to think, create, and act together for a greener and more equitable world.
